Correcting

Open the photo below.

First we'll fix the red eyes by using the Red Eye Removal tool.

Click and drag around the red part of the eye.

• Next we'll fix the lighting - it's pretty dark. So we select the photo/layer with the Select tool (black arrow), and go to Filters in Properties
• First we'll fix the Levels (under Adjust Color). This is one of the most common filters to fix photos. 

• If the picture is too dark, first adjust the white slider, then the middle one 
• If the picture is too bright - first adjust the black slider, then the middle one 

Adjust the skin color/tone by using the Filter Hue/Saturation - adjusting the saturation down a bit so the face isn't so red.

Her nose is quite red so we'll use the Dodge tool to lighten it. Zoom in on the nose, and play with the settings - make the brush bigger, reduce the Exposure, and make sure it has a very soft Edge.

You can also Dodge on the teeth to make them a little brighter.

Also use the Burn tool to make her eye brows darker, stand out more.

Save as "correcting" in your Z:>GA8>Photos>Basics folder.
